Pharmag POM-5 Planetary Mixer

The Pharma Test / Pharmag POM-5 Planetary Mixer Attachment is designed for pharmaceutical formulation research and development (R&D), Galenical Labs, and small-batch pilot production. This module can be directly connected to a P-UAM universal motor drive unit and employs a unique dual planetary revolution and rotation mixing mechanism. It is specifically designed for high-shear axial and radial kneading and mixing of high-viscosity pastes, ointments, creams, slurries, and wet powders, completely eliminating mixing dead zones and fully complying with cGMP, GLP, and FDA regulations.


I. Adopting an industry-standard quick-release structure, it can be directly connected and installed on the P-UAM universal motor host without tools, greatly saving laboratory desk space and equipment purchase costs.


II. The planetary mixing blades undergo a dual motion of "rotation on their own axis and revolution along the inner wall of the container" inside the container, applying strong stretching, folding, extrusion, and shearing kneading effects to high-viscosity materials, ensuring that the paste is extremely homogeneous and fine.


III. It has a total volume of 5.0 L (effective working capacity up to 2.5 ~ 3.0 L), supports stepless precision speed regulation, and perfectly connects the treatment development to the pilot amplification process.


IV. All parts in contact with materials are made of AISI 316L medical-grade stainless steel, with a sanitary high-precision polishing finish. They are free of dead corners, easy to disassemble, clean and sterilize quickly, and fully comply with GMP cleaning effectiveness standards.

    • Three-dimensional multi-dimensional mixing and kneading: While rotating on its own axis, the mixing blades also revolve around the central axis of the container, forming a dense planetary orbit that powerfully tumbles, squeezes, folds, and kneads the material from all directions.

    • Completely eliminates dead zones in mixing: The mixing blades fit tightly against the geometric shape of the inner wall and bottom of the container, preventing material from settling or remaining at the container edge, achieving highly uniform mixing.

    • Low heat accumulation: The precisely designed geometric flow channels and rotation speed effectively suppress frictional heat generation during high-shear mixing, making it ideal for heat-sensitive active ingredients (thermolabile APIs) and bio-based formulations.

  • Modular quick-lock and cGMP cleanability

    • Direct-connect quick-release installation: Directly connect to the P-UAM host via a universal quick-lock flange, allowing for tool-free installation and removal in seconds.

    • The entire machine is made of 316L stainless steel and is easy to clean: all contact parts are made of AISI 316L corrosion-resistant mirror-polished stainless steel, the top cover has a safety interlock protection, and it fully supports standard high temperature and high pressure sterilization and GMP cleaning.
