Pharmag PLT Pelletizer Granulator

The Pharma Test / Pharmag PLT Pelletizer Attachment is designed for the direct production of highly spherical pellets and spherical particles from dry or moist powders. This machine employs a precision rotary disc granulation principle, connected to a UAM universal power unit via a UGD universal gearbox, providing a stable rotational speed of 5 to 45 rpm and ±45° operating tilt adjustment. As the granulation process continues and the pellets reach the desired particle size, they overflow from the disc edge under centrifugal force and gravity, achieving highly efficient continuous processing and R&D optimization.


I. Using a Ø 400 mm precision stainless steel granulation disc, clockwise rotation and interaction with solid/liquid binders are employed to produce microspheres with extremely high sphericity.


II. Connected to the UAM universal motor drive unit via the UGD universal gearbox, it supports stepless speed adjustment from 5 to 45 rpm and precise setting of ±45° operating tilt angle.


III. It has continuous overflow discharge characteristics, and the formed micro pellets can automatically roll over the outer edge of the disc and slide into the collection container for subsequent drying, resulting in smooth production capacity.


IV. The machine has a simple and lightweight structure, making disassembly, assembly, daily maintenance, and cleaning extremely quick. All contact materials comply with cGMP, GLP, and FDA hygiene standards.



Equipment Introduction


  • Disk Pelletizing Technology

    • Three-dimensional pelletizing dynamics: The stainless steel disc rotates smoothly in a clockwise direction. The material inside the disc is subjected to the combined action of centrifugal force, gravity and friction, forming a regular rolling motion.

    • Uniform spherical growth: By spraying a trace amount of liquid binder, the dry powder grows layer by layer after nucleation, forming high-strength spherical microspheres with uniform density and smooth surface.

  • Optimized Process Settings

    • Precise and controllable particle size: The final particle size of the micro pellets can be precisely controlled by adjusting the rotation speed (5–45 rpm), operating angle (±45°), solid/liquid ratio, and material feed rate.

    • UGD Universal Flexible Adjustment: The UGD universal gearbox provides excellent angle positioning capabilities, allowing R&D personnel to quickly determine the optimal granulation angle for various formulations.

  • Continuous Overflow & Rapid Discharging

    • Automatic overflow collection: Under continuous feeding operation, micro pellets that reach the set size will naturally float to the top of the material layer and roll over the outer edge of the disc, falling directly into the collection container below without being squeezed or damaged.

    • Quick material discharge and cleaning: When the process ends or the batch is changed, the UGD tilt angle can be adjusted to achieve quick and complete material discharge, which greatly saves cleaning time.

  • Modular quick-release and cGMP hygienic design (cGMP Compliant & Easy Maintenance)

    • Quick assembly and disassembly: The disc and drive interface adopt a modular design, making disassembly and assembly extremely intuitive and simple, which is convenient for daily cleaning and maintenance in the laboratory.

    • Medical-grade stainless steel throughout: All material contact parts are made of high-grade corrosion-resistant stainless steel, with polishing treatment without dead corners, fully supporting high-temperature and high-pressure or chemical sterilization procedures in accordance with cGMP standards.
