Logan MDS 700 Media Degassing and Preparation System
The Logan MDS-700 Multimedia Automated Addition/Replacement System is designed for automated pretreatment and media adjustment in dissolution tests. It can be connected to various dissolution analyzers and accurately performs automated media half-change and pH gradient switching for sustained-release, controlled-release, and enteric-coated formulations. This system fully complies with the testing specifications for delayed-release and enteric-coated formulations in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) <711>, the European Pharmacopoeia (EP) <2.9.3>, and various national pharmacopoeias.
I. Designed specifically for two-stage dissolution testing (Acid Stage to Buffer Stage) of delayed-release and enteric-coated formulations. The system automatically and precisely dispenses preheated concentrated buffer at preset time points (e.g., automatically injecting 250 mL of concentrated buffer into 750 mL of 0.1 N HCl acidic medium to instantly prepare 1,000 mL of pH 6.8 buffer), realizing a seamless, fully automated dissolution process without human intervention.
II. Employing a multi-channel independent high-precision metering pump synchronous dispensing design, the dispensing volume accuracy reaches within ±1.0%. This ensures synchronized and uniform dispensing height in each dissolution vessel, completely eliminating time delays, volume deviations, and cross-contamination risks associated with manual addition, significantly improving batch repeatability and test reliability.
III. Equipped with an independent constant-temperature preheating bath and insulated transmission pipeline, the buffer solution is precisely preheated to the standard physiological temperature (37.0 ± 0.5 °C) before injection. This effectively eliminates the thermal shock caused by traditional injection of cold media, ensuring that the drug release rate is not affected by thermal effects and strictly complies with USP/EP specifications.
IV. The control system is equipped with multi-level user access management that complies with regulations and an tamper-proof, full-featured electronic audit trail, which records operation events, liquid addition time stamps and parameter changes in real time, fully complying with cGMP/GLP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and ALCOA+ data integrity requirements.

Strict Deaeration & Low DO Level Control : Ensures high consistency of deaeration between dissolution vessels, and maintains a stable dissolved oxygen level (DO level) of < 6 ppm after deaeration. It features a built-in 45 µm filtration system and fully complies with USP Toolkit and PVT guidelines.
Rapid Pre-Heating & Precise Temperature Control : The ambient temperature can be heated to 37°C in less than 25 minutes, and the temperature control accuracy is ±0.3°C, avoiding temperature fluctuations in the dissolution vessel caused by the injection of cold media.

Dedicated tanks completely avoid cross-contamination.

With a precise 4×2 spacing configuration, it can stably place 6 to 8 standard 1000 mL dissolution cups at a time; it works perfectly with the MDS-700 multi-channel dispensing manifold for batch positioning, enabling high-precision temperature-controlled and degassed solvent filling of 6–8 cups in one go, significantly reducing pre-processing time.
Safe and efficient transport line (Safe & Spill-Free Transport to Cleaning Station):
After the experiment is completed, the operator no longer needs to handle the fragile glass cups one by one. With the ergonomic handles on both sides, the entire batch (up to 8 cups) can be extracted smoothly and directly transferred to the washing tank, ultrasonic vibrator or drying area, completely eliminating the industrial safety risk of a single cup slipping and breaking and the possibility of liquid spillage.
Durable and chemically resistant design:
The main body is made of a chemically resistant composite material with high rigidity, resistance to acids and alkalis and surfactants. The double-layer perforated skeleton provides vertical coverage of the cup body and excellent anti-shake protection. The bottom is equipped with highly stable non-slip feet, which can stand firmly on the laboratory table, trolley or washing sink.
