Logan C&D 360 Mini Patch Maker
The Logan Small-Scale Patch Making Equipment with Built-in Dryer is specifically designed for the formulation development and pilot production of transdermal drug delivery systems (TDDS), transdermal patches, adhesive dressings, and cosmetic patches. The equipment seamlessly integrates a precision film-thickness coating mechanism with a high-efficiency hot air circulating drying chamber into a compact, benchtop unit. It enables rapid and highly reproducible film formation and curing of various medicated patch samples using trace amounts of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and matrix excipients. This equipment fully complies with the pharmacopoeias and FDA standards for process uniformity in the development of transdermal absorption formulations. It is an indispensable core pretreatment and formulation development tool for connecting downstream Franz diffusion cell in vitro release (IVRT) and in vitro transdermal penetration (IVPT) tests.
I. Integrated All-in-One Design: Integrating a precision coating table and a hot air circulating oven into a single tabletop unit, allowing for controlled drying in place and eliminating film deformation, dust contamination, and uneven solvent evaporation caused by moving between different equipment.
II. Micrometer-Level Precision Coating: Equipped with dual micrometer-level doctor blades, it provides micrometer-level precision control over the wet film thickness, ensuring uniform spread of the substrate on the release pad/backing film and high batch reproducibility.
III. Uniform Hot Air Circulation and PID Temperature Control: Independent hot air convection combined with precise PID temperature control and patented airflow duct ensures uniform heat distribution, promotes slow solvent evaporation, and prevents surface skinning, microbubbles, and API precipitation.
IV. Minimize Sample Consumption and IVRT/IVPT Integration (Minimal API Consumption & Testing): Designed specifically for early-stage small-scale prescription screening, significantly saving high-value APIs and excipients; the fabricated patches can be directly and seamlessly connected to the Logan System 918-12 vertical Franz Cell for IVRT/IVPT evaluation.

Equipment Introduction
Integrated All-in-One Coating & Built-in Drying Architecture
Seamless In-Situ Coating & In-Line Drying Integration : The precision doctor blade coating mechanism and the hot air circulation drying chamber are highly integrated into a single tabletop unit. After coating, the sample can be directly heated and cured in situ in a controlled manner, completely avoiding film deformation, dust contamination, or uneven solvent evaporation caused during the process of handling and transferring the sample to an external oven.
Space-Saving Compact Footprint : Designed specifically for modern pharmaceutical R&D and analysis laboratories, it enables a complete patch preparation process in a minimal footprint, significantly improving laboratory space utilization and sample preparation turnaround efficiency.
Micrometer-level high-precision coating thickness control mechanism
Dual-Micrometer Adjustable Doctor Blade : Equipped with a high-precision dual-sided micrometer adjustment mechanism, it has the ability to precisely control the wet film thickness at the micrometer (µm) level. It can accurately set and lock the doctor blade gap to ensure uniform spreading of the adhesive matrix on the release liner or backing film.
Superior Batch-to-Batch Thickness Uniformity & Reproducibility : The high-rigidity structural design completely eliminates slight deformation and shaking of the squeegee during the coating process, ensuring that the film thickness is highly consistent across the edges and center of the entire patch, meeting stringent pharmacopoeia content uniformity requirements.
Uniform thermal airflow convection and multi-stage precise temperature control (Uniform Thermal Airflow Convection & Precision PID Temperature Control)
Optimized Airflow Convection Drying Chamber: The built-in specially designed hot air circulation duct provides an extremely stable and uniform heat field distribution inside the chamber, achieving a controlled and slow solvent evaporation rate, and completely eliminating problems such as skinning on the patch surface, bubbling inside, or solvent residue.
Precision Digital PID Temperature Controller : Features a wide temperature setting range and high-precision digital PID temperature control capabilities, with minimal temperature fluctuations, accurately meeting the specific drying and curing curve requirements of various polymer matrix (PSA) and heat-sensitive drug components (API).
Minimal Sample Consumption & High-Value API Optimization: Development of Minimal Formulations and Extreme Savings in High-Value API Raw Materials
Micro-Scale TDDS Formulation Screening & Optimization : Tailor-made for early transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS) formulation development, matrix compatibility screening, and DoE experimental design, requiring only trace amounts of active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and excipient matrix to successfully complete prototyping.
Significantly reduce early-stage R&D raw material costs (Maximizing Cost-Efficiency for Expensive Drug Candidates) : Effectively overcomes the pain point of difficult or expensive API raw material acquisition in the early stages of R&D, enabling R&D teams to quickly explore the optimal prescription and coating process parameters with limited sample quantities.
Seamless Integration with Downstream IVRT & IVPT Penetration Testing
Standardized Patch Preparation for Franz Diffusion Cells : The prepared patches can be directly sampled using standard cutting dies, and are highly compatible with vertical Franz diffusion cells such as the Logan System 918-12, ensuring consistency and reliability of in vitro release rate (IVRT) and in vitro transdermal penetration (IVPT) test samples.
Full-process regulatory compliance and quality assurance (Regulatory Compliance with USP <1724> & FDA Guidelines) : Fully compliant with USP <1724>, EMA and FDA regulations for the research and development and process evaluation of topical and transdermal absorption formulations, comprehensively accelerating the development of new drugs and generic drugs for penetrating patches and topical dressings.
