J&M
Brand Introduction
Founded in 1987 and headquartered in Essingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, J&M Analytik AG is a leading global brand in fiber-optic spectroscopy and process analytical technology (PAT). It is currently part of the Pharma Test Group, a leading German manufacturer of pharmaceutical testing instruments (official website: https://www.pharma-test.de/en/jm/).
Since its inception, J&M has focused on the research and development and manufacturing of high-sensitivity ultraviolet/visible (UV/Vis) and near-infrared (NIR) diode array spectrometers (DAD/PDA). J&M has introduced aerospace and semiconductor-grade high-speed optical technology into the fields of pharmaceutical, chemical, and biotechnology research and development, completely breaking through the bottlenecks of traditional spectrophotometers, such as slow mechanical scanning speed, high optical fiber transmission light loss, and difficulty in real-time online analysis.
Within the Pharma Test Group's comprehensive framework, J&M's spectrometers and online fiber optic technology are deeply integrated with Pharma Test's dissolution testing machines (PTWS series), powder flowability analyzers (PTG series), and process equipment, providing global pharmaceutical companies with integrated optical analysis solutions ranging from "laboratory online optical dissolution automation" to "real-time monitoring of solid formulation PAT processes (PAT & In-Line Process Monitoring)".
Core values
Ultra-Fast Diode Array Technology:
It adopts an advanced CCD/NMOS/InGaAs diode array detector, eliminating the wear and delay of mechanical rotating parts in traditional monochromatic detectors.
It can perform real-time acquisition of the entire spectrum within milliseconds (ms), accurately capturing the burst release reaction and rapid dynamic chemical changes in the early stage of dissolution and release.
Industrial-grade high-efficiency fiber optics:
Equipped with exclusive quartz fiber and immersion fiber probes that are resistant to sunlight, bending, and chemical corrosion.
It features extremely low light attenuation and excellent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), accurately and losslessly transmitting optical signals from the dissolution vessel or process reactor to the spectral analysis core.
PAT process analysis technology and online non-destructive testing (Non-Destructive PAT):
It enables continuous, real-time testing with "no sample loss, no chemical reagents required, and no sampling residue".
Supports real-time online measurement of moisture, blend uniformity, and API content in fluidized beds, twin cone mixers, tablet press shoes, and powder flow channels.
Strict compliance with pharmacopoeia and data integrity regulations.
The instrument hardware and measurement parameters fully comply with USP <856> (NIR), USP <857> (UV/Vis), EP <2.2.25> and EP <2.2.40> specifications.
The TIDASDAQ 3 analysis software and WinDiss ARGUS dissolve-integrate software fully comply with FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU GMP Annex 11 and ALCOA+ data integrity requirements, and have complete access control and tamper-proof audit trail.
Product direction
J&M's product line covers three core areas: " Online Fiber Ionization Spectroscopy System ", " Integrated Near-Infrared/Ultraviolet Spectrometer ", and " PAT Process Analysis and Powder Coupling System ".
1. TIDAS L Series Integrated Spectrometer Systems
Integrating a high-performance spectral engine, optical interface, and industrial-grade touchscreen computer into one compact, dustproof, and shockproof unit, it is plug-and-play.
TIDAS L 900 NIR (Integrated Near-Infrared Spectrometer):
It has a wavelength range of 1100 to 2100 nm and is equipped with a 256-pixel cooled InGaAs array detector and a 7.5W tungsten halogen lamp light source.
With spectral resolution better than 6 nm (FWHM) and wavelength reproducibility better than 0.1 nm, it is designed for online non-destructive testing of highly scattering solid powders, particles and mixtures.
It comes standard with a 10.4-inch touchscreen IPC and TIDASDAQ 3 spectral analysis software, and supports external SMA 905 optical connectors.
TIDAS L UV/Vis (Ultraviolet/Vis Spectrometer):
Specifically designed for multi-channel real-time absorbance and concentration quantitative analysis, it features a dual light source of long-life deuterium lamp and halogen lamp, covering wavelengths from 190 to 720 nm / 1020 nm .
2. Online Fiber-Optic Dissolution Monitoring System
Seamlessly integrates with the Pharma Test PTWS series dissolution tester, offering two fully automated online analysis modes:
In-Situ Fiber Probes:
Precision through-type or reflective fiber optic probes can be directly placed into the dissolution cup, eliminating the need for extraction of dissolution medium, filtration, tubing adsorption, and dead volume in the flow path.
It enables real-time multi-channel (6/8/12 cups) spectral scanning every few seconds and automatically plots continuous dissolution curves.
Multiplexer Flow-Cell Online:
Equipped with a high-precision multi-channel peristaltic/piston pump, the medium is introduced into a micro-quartz flow cell, and after ultraviolet spectroscopy measurement is completed by an optical fast switch, it is returned to the dissolution cup to maintain absolute sink conditions.
3. PAT & Powder Testing Integration Module
PTG-NIR Powder Flowability and Near-Infrared Optics Combined Module:
Integrated with the Pharma Test PTG-S5 fully automated powder flowability tester, it simultaneously measures the powder flow rate, angle of repose, and density during the dynamic process of powder flowing through the funnel and falling, and uses NIR to quickly identify powder uniformity, moisture content, and chemical characteristics.
Industrial Fiber Optic Probes and Connectors:
We offer stainless steel/Hastelloy reflective and transmissive probes with CIP/SIP tolerance, high-pressure sealing, and explosion-proof design, compatible with various laboratory reaction vessels, mixers, and process piping.
Brand advantages
Seamless integration with Pharma Test dissolution system, achieving 100% original manufacturer online support: Deeply integrated by the original manufacturer's engineering team within the same group, providing one-stop technical support and after-sales service for everything from hardware installation and fixation, communication interlocking, trigger timing, to the seamless connection between optical calculation software and dissolution method (WinDiss ARGUS), eliminating the incompatibility risks of cross-brand system integration.
Sampling-free and zero liquid consumption significantly reduces laboratory manpower: Online fiber optic ionization technology eliminates the cumbersome processes of manual sampling, manual filtration, sample vial preparation, and HPLC sample loading and analysis. It not only reduces the traditional analysis work that takes several days to complete automatically within a few hours, but also consumes no injection filter membranes or chemical organic solvents, greatly reducing operating costs.
Compliant with QbD (Quality by Design) and the highest international pharmacopoeia standards: fully compatible with modern pharmaceutical R&D's PAT (Patient Acquisition, Testing, and Application) and Real-Time Release Testing (RTRT) principles. Optical and software validation meets the most stringent USP/EP pharmacopoeia and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements, and provides standardized original manufacturer DQ/IQ/OQ validation documentation packages to help pharmaceutical companies easily pass regulatory audits at all levels, both domestically and internationally.
